As the wedding season kicks in and the sweet after taste of the Bridal Fashion Week lingers, fashion designer Bhakti Shah has unveiled her bridal collection. The designs with incorporates vibrant hues and traditional appeal. Recently showcased at the bridal exhibition — Brides of Mumbai — the collection received rave responses.
Though inspired by Rohit Bal and Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, Bhakti has further experimented with Indian wear by infusing vibrant colours, distinctive designs and using a variety of Indian fabrics. “The quintessential Indian bride is more open to experimenting with outfits for the D-Day. She desires an individualistic appeal without disturbing the traditional framework,” the designer said.
Her fashion store Signature Couture Store at Matunga, Mumbai, offers bridal wear, cocktail dresses and trousseau outfits. The intricate embroidery work in zarodozi, gota, resham and swarovski on Indian fabrics like lucknowi, chanderi, jamewar, bandhani, silks and banarasi is breathtaking.
