The upcoming India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW) in Goa promises to set new trends in the world of fashion with its second season.

“With IRFW turning one this year, we are bringing a bigger, better and exciting new twist to fashion, music and style. We have divided the fashion event into three main areas – The Fashion Show, The Fashion Village and The Music Festival,” Nidhi Choudhary, managing director, IRFW, told IANS.

Also expect a music extravaganza.

“SandKastle, a beach music festival, will see a robust line up of international and Indian artists performing. In addition, there an experiential retail arena known as India Resort Fashion Village which is open to all,” added Choudhary.

The four-day fashion extravaganza, starting Nov 28, is scheduled to take place at Goa’s popular Candolium beach this year, unlike the last season where only the finale took place at Marbela Beach Resort, Morjim and the rest of the shows took place at hotel Grand Hyatt.

“This time our fashion week ramp is set against a natural backdrop of the ocean along with a fashion music festival which will have international celebrity DJs and musicians with special acts and performances,” Aman Swetta, creative show director of IRFW, told IANS.

“The Village, on the other hand, will have established and promising designers retailing their specially created resort wear lines,” Swetta added.

The first edition witnessed 15 designers showcasing their talent, however the second edition will have lot more to offer for its patrons.

Some of the confirmed designers and artists are Falguni and Shane Peacock and Narendra Kumar Ahmed.

“We have received immense response due to the success of the first edition. As compared to last year, this year we have 28 shows spread over four days. More than 30 of the best Indian and international designers will be showcasing their exclusive resort wear collection at IRFW. Also this year, we are having an international designer slot everyday,” Choudhary added.

With so much international presence, any plans to opt for an international venue in future?

“We have been receiving a lot of interest from international partners and would definitely be doing something internationally soon,” added Swetta.
