To add zesty- zingy colors to your make-up palate, Oriflame India has launched the Very Me collection. Aimed for 18-25 year olds, the range of cosmetics is stylish yet affordable. A bloggers meet to announce the launch took me to Vie Lounge for a breezy, pampering afternoon. Charismatic Sharmili Rajput, Marketing Director, Oriflame India, kick started the event. She gave a brief about the company, its endeavors and the new range of cosmetics. The introduction was followed by beautiful Aakriti Kochar, Beauty and Make Up Expert, Oriflame, demonstrating a look for the season, using the new range of products.
All the while we were given some handy tips on upcoming make-up trends. For instance, black and monochromes are giving way to colours on your face. Move aside smoky eyes, because greens, lavenders and blues on your eyes will rule the roost. Nude looks may not well be your best companion this season. Beginning of a new year will demand colour and vibrancy. So put those creams, peaches and nudes away. Add fuschia, oranges, purples and plums to your face. Aakriti also repeated the fabled make up regimes. Dark eye shadow on the outer corners and a lighter shade of the same colour on inner corners of your eyes to make the eyes look bigger. Masacara on the top and lower lashes, both, for that wide-eyed look. Blend, blend, blend it right, cause that’s your key to not appearing patchy or overly done. Plump up your lips with gloss for that fresh and riveting look.
We could personally lay our hands on the new range with an interesting contest. The bloggers could select a model and create a look for her using the new range. Needless to say, with a tinge of pride here, my look won the award. So let me pick out my personal favorites from what I saw and used. Very Me Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow — A tinted moisturizer which has a very creamy yet light effect. Gives a slight tint to your skin in a very understated manner. Very Me Double Trouble Eye Pencils — In double colours in interesting shades like Mocha, Green, Electric Blues and Purples. Very Me Oh My Gloss — Lip gloss with the right amount of colour, for those shiny plumped up glossy lips. Give a glance to the December, Oriflame 2012 catalogue for their complete range.
All in all, it was an afternoon well spent amidst cocktails, foot massages and a rib tickling comedy act by stand up comedian Rohan Joshi and some lovely bloggers for company.
