The fashion industry seems to be celebrating music this season. Vogue India decided to put the immensely appealing Beyonce on their cover, making it into our list of the top five magazine covers this May. Decked out in Marni and Haider Ackerman, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, the queen of our iPods talks about all things music and the new baby.
The cover caught my eye because;
a) It’s Beyonce
b) The Marni top is incredible
Remember when she first hit the scene with her wild, untamed look? Pick up a Vogue from the nearest news stand see the understated but beautiful looks that Beyonce sports, including styles by Givenchy and Rochas.
Marie Claire, USA.
Scarlett Johansson, true to her name, falls onto the May 2013 cover like a drop of stark, sexy blood. She dons a Dolce & Gabbana dress, David Yurman and Etername rings, lays there and looks devastatingly gorgeous without even trying. It’s no wonder that this beautifully styled issue made our list. The photographer, Txema Yeste, fortifies Scarlett’s natural appeal and makes all of us want to sell several organs just to own that dress.
Harper’s Bazaar could not have picked a better face for their May issue, whats with the Iron Man 3 craze tearing through the globe like wildfire. Gwyneth Paltrow and her Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière bustier showed up like a ray of light, amid all the red and black trending this season. You need to get a copy and leaf through it, if only to read her invigorating interview and catch a glimpse of the stunning Swarovski embroidered silk gown by Armani Prive. She exudes an elegance that is captured perfectly in the cover, photographed by Daniel Jackson.
Take a break from the more sombre looks on the other covers and get a load of the new Cosmo cover for May. Rachel Bilson, photographed by Matthias Vriens-McGrath makes a splash in bright pink. The cover screams candy, sun, fun and a good time. I like how it’s casual, almost effortless but it still manages to catch your eye. Lay back, relax and browse through this one with a glass of lemonade, revelling in the vibrant colours and tongue in cheek styles.
Hayden Panettiere coupled with Dolce & Gabbana. Need I say more? Photographed by Peggy Sirota. The colours pop and make you pick one of these off the stand right away. It’s so full of sunshine and so sultry yet subtle. The tones blend but the effect is still stark in a pleasant way. Subscribe and leaf through it and oh do I envy you if you manage to nab one of the D&G swim suits.
May you find that summer love.
