Runway Reviews: IIJW DAY 2

The second day of India International Jewellery week saw the work of a lot of young minds. Institutes like IIGJ and GIA presented the works of their present students as well as their alumni. Along with the institutes other big jewellery brands showcased their designs.

Saboo Jewellers presented exquisitely handcrafted pieces. Saboo Jewellers are based out of Hong Kong but are spread across the globe. The company has a wide range of clientele including international stars like Jennifer Lopez and Cate Blanchet. The seven lines of jewellery inspired by India were absolutely stunning.

Students of Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery showcased their unique and breathtaking creations. Inspired by everything around us, these five young minds created a fine line of jewellery. Miss India Earth Shobhita Dhulipala walked the ramp as a show stopper for the IIGJ show.

Moni Agarwal presented an elegant ‘Satlada’ line of jewellery for her show. The exotic handcrafted pieces gave a glimpse of Hyderabadi culture. Kajal Aggarwal, Tapasee and Rana Daggubati were the show stoppers for Moni Agarwal’s show. Rana Daggubati donned the ‘Satlada’ or the seven string pearl neck piece.

The Gem Institute of America showcased the work of some young alumni from their institute. The girls drew inspiration from nature and people. Show consisted of many nature inspired collections like the under water collection designed by one of the graduates from GIA.

Day two of IIJW came to and end with a bang from Gitanjali Jewellers. The grand wedding themed show began with a tribal dance performance followed by models wearing their unique wedding jewellery collection. The runway  turned into a celebration ground with some bhangra,rajasthani folk dance and bharatnatyam performances followed by a wedding ceremony and finally it ended with the bollywood star Neha Dhupia’s walk on the runway.
