With a heavy heart we bid adieu to the year’s most awaited fashion week, the Lakme Fashion Week.

The last day began with an amazing jewellery line by the designers Jinali Sutariya  and Heena Surani under their label House of Chic. The Dark Angel’ jewellery line took the audience to the dark side of the fantasy world with the feather head gears and bling purses. The unique collection of rings, bracelets and earrings were showcased on the runway. The feminine yet chic and trendy collection was a mix of skulls, crosses, lace and black ties. The brilliant use of linen lace and gunmetal print captured the true essence of a dark fantasy world. Miss India Pooja Gupta walked the ramp wrapped in a body vest studded with skulls and spikes.  Vivacious and young birdy prints at Samor by Pragya and Megha were something to lookout for.  The absolutely stunning and funky black dress with neon hints and LED lights was a hit combination of fun and classy. SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi was all about reviving the national bird’s beauty in textile. The gracious use of peacock prints and greens with intricate detailing caught all our attention. The petite beauty Prachi Desai donned one of the creations by SVA couture as their showstopper. Rahul and Shikha presented a mix of Indian and International styles with the unique cotton layering dresses.

Chokhi’ by Archana Kochhar was a collection which drew influences from the famous Rajasthani architecture. Rusted mirror work on sarees and lehengas with hints of zardosi work looked absolutely lavish. We absolutely loved the Rajasthani elephant prints and sunset colours at the show.

The bold and absolutely gorgeous Priyanka Chopra walked down the ramp with panache. “the collection was made for the women of 21st century and completely wearable”- quoted Ms. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka Chopras mother who was present at the show to support her daughter.

Only Shyamal and Bhumika can create wonderful bridal collection with the use of flamboyant and rich embroidery with total finesse. The Indian bridal couture collection was made of velvets, tissue materials and nets.  Bridal cholis with heavy embroidered lehengas was brilliant. Dia Mirza walked down the ramp for the duo wrapped in their beautiful red bridal lehenga.

And then the Grand Finale…
