Koecsh Launch Party

Kresha Bajaj has given fashion a cool, fun, crazy, edgy, surreal twist, with her online store Koecsh. The launch party for Koecsh at Otto Infinito, was all that her label stands for and more. With the crème de la crème guest in attendance, we got to see an exuberant mix of fashion, cocktails and music.

As we entered we saw spiked rock chic stilettoes in bird cages suspended from above, made me gape in awe. There were life size cut outs of models displaying the Koecsh ensembles and later live models donning them too. What particularly impressed us were the collars, that were very niche and quirky. You would definitely wear them if you want to get noticed.

The clothes line, has been designed by Kresha herself. And the shoes are by Jeffery Campbell, whom she has exclusive selling rights. The jewelry is totally out of the box and has that- ‘never seen before’ stamp to it. The collection has predominantly black hues to it. I also loved mid riff baring bustiers and chain detailing, as well as cut out dresses.

Kresha is self admittedly an obsessive vintage collector, globe- trotter and trend setting fashion lover who believes in dressing innovatively and Koecsh has her traits written all over it. ‘Dress to Express and not to Impress’ is her fashion mantra. The name Koecsh has no meaning and is just a twister of her name. She believes that it stands for an attitude laced with style. And she should know, for someone who has studied fashion for 7 years ought to have an insight into all things sartorial. We loved the part where she said she wanted people to know that, ‘ Edgy is not goth, classic is not boring and fun is not obscene’. The reason she hasn’t ventured into a conventional store and started an online portal is that she wants people to be able to buy the products around the clock and get it delivered to their door step, so that they don’t have to leave the comfort of their homes.

Kresha stressed during the evening that, quality is a big tradition in her family and for her affordability and value is very important. So she has brought the best of both worlds together to create a brand that has it all. The defining line for Koecsh products is that- They are borderless, they are not prisoners of geography or culture, yet they respect both and Koecsh is not bound by the hands of a clock, yet it is contemporary and timeless.

A fashion film by Kresha’s mentor was played to highlight the Koecsh love affair. You can watch the video by clicking on the link:  http://vimeo.com/73130218

Spotted during the evening were Shamita Shetty, looking smoking hot in a sheer short black number. Dia Mirza, in a sporty black jumpsuit, Sushma Reddy looking gorgeous in a lace dress, Nina Manuel again sporting all black with a very interesting patch- work denim. Then there was Manasi Scott in a rather unflattering floral embellished blue dress. Also Tarun Tahiliani, Narendra Kumar Ahmed, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Kailash and Arti Surendranath, Tanaaz Doshi,

Piyush Pandey, Suhel Seth to name a few. Black seemed to be the color of the evening hands down. If you dare to think out of the box, are a trend setter and don’t mind living life on the edge (at times off it too), you know your kind of fashion is just a click away…
