The eclectic and much sought after multi designer store by Aparna Badlani and Azmina Rahimtoola celebrated the onset of Spring Summer 2014 collection of designers Nishka Lulla, Vaishali S and Ravage by Raj Shroff (from Bangalore) accompanied by exotic pieces of jewellery by Zarrin, on Thursday 13th February 2014.
Nishka Lulla sticks to clean, simple lines this season as is her trademark, with a clear focus on separates to allow the wearer maximum flexibility with chic crop tops, shirt dresses, tunics, high-waist skirts, slouch trousers and maxi dresses in solids as well as fun vintage prints inspired by travel and everyday living.
Ravage by Raj Shroff is identified with clothes that offer sharp silhouettes and imaginative surface treatments and, yet, are still supremely user-friendly.The look is undeniably international, the viewpoint indigenous, but in the new global Indian style that goes everywhere.
For Vaishali S, the color story progresses between white, off white, blue, grey and black. Carefully chosen hand spun and hand woven Kesapaat of Assam and Khadi and cotton from play a tremendous role in the collection.
“This summer is all about minimal, no fuss looks with lots of solids and bright colours, that celebrate the season. Nishka, Ravage and Zarrin go with this thread of thought while Vaishali S once again works with weaves and textures of Indian textiles albeit with a sense of lightness”, says Aparna Badlani of Atosa
Atosa in a short span has carved a niche for itself as a store that showcases design as a craft form in terms of textures, finishes and silhouettes, from established as well as upcoming talent. “We are happy to present these new collections from young talents like Nishka, Vaishali S and Zarrin and bring Ravage to Mumbai after a long gap. Each one has a different silhouette and look and yet an underlying principle of simplicity and form”, adds Azmina Rahimtoola.
