Mumbai will be lit with fashion and glitterati for the next five days for Lakme Fashion Week is officially here. The town was buzzing with tweets and insta uploads already but it’s just on the night of 11^th March that we finally witnessed what was being talked about.

Manish Malhotra, the forerunner of LFW SR14 exhibited a romantic collection called, “A Summer Affair”. While we expect the show stopper to be intimidatingly stunning, Sonaakshi Sinha walked on the ramp with oomph less than that of a struggling teen.

Pink, powder blue, beige, ivory and black were predominant in the collection. Embroidery, zip detailing, sequin, lace were not shied away from and were used in plenty. Nehru jackets, crop tops over lehengas, floor kissing kurtis, and boleros were silhouettes that defined ease and comfort in the assortment.

It definitely looked romantic as expected, especially with the melodious background scores- we almost felt like we are transported to a Karan Johar movie. However, to be honest, the collection didn’t move us. It was like enjoying a one-time watch flick.

The necessary glamour was added to the event by the presence of celebrated names like Kangana, Sophie Chowdhary, Ameesha Patel, Kajol, Urmila among others. Thankfully, we love what the stars wore!

Sophie Chowdhary

Sophie looked retro chic in a pair of palazzo pants and a mixed print jacket. An amalgamation of checks, stripes and flora- she looked like she has mastered the art of wearing prints. Rose tinted pout, flushed cheeks and hair updo, the lady looked mesmerizing in womanly charm.

Ameesha Patel

Still the same innocence on her face, still the same girlish charisma, Ameesha looked beautiful in a pink and white embroidered kurti worn over trousers. Solid and sheer were well played with and worked in the favor of the simple Indian beauty.

Sonali Bendre

This evergreen beautiful mom wore a brown floor length Indian dress with red velvet side panels. Hair updo, dark eyes and subtle lips made her look perfectly stunning. A box clutch and nude pumps completed her fashion week look.

Kajol and Tanisha

Kajol wore mustard green and Tanisha wore black. High neck, floor length ethnic outfits made the sister duo shine on the stage as the paparazzi madness took over.

Hard Kaur

Dressed in a red jumpsuit, wearing gold statement neckpiece and that perfect dimpled smile, Hard Kaur looked comfortable in what she wore. Fuss free dressing makes this vivacious, candid girl all the more appealing, doesn’t it?
