Deepika Padukone’s Van Heusen ‘Limited Edition’ SS‘14 Collection

Ramp is not an unfamiliar territory to this beautiful, dimpled B-town beauty nor is taking centre stage under the proud, glistening limelight. Having started off as a model, turned into an actor, Deepika Padukone has been on a different journey altogether.

A journey that is characterised by creativity, trial and error and dedicated toil was embarked upon by the femme fatale we love, exclusively for Van Heusen. The limited edition Spring/Summer 2014 collection by Deepika Padukone is officially launched, as the ensembles debuted at a fashion show.

The show saw the light with 10 fresh faces (personally chosen by Deepika through a contest) that walked the ramp wearing all-white sheath dresses. The color palette slowly progressed to monochrome; all black, red as well as champagne shades that graced the color story on the runway.

As intended, the assortment has an air of high street glam to it making it blatant yet wearable. Whether you decide to go ethereal in a white beaded lace dress for a Sunday brunch or if you feel fixated on making a statement with a red monotone pantsuit, this collection is bound to spruce up your most basic silhouettes. A beaded shimmer dress, a stone-encrusted ivory dress and a laser-cut LBD make for perfect party/cocktail ensembles. If you’re in a mood to wear the pants, rock your evening look in a luxurious gold shimmer blouse.

One can see a little of Deepika in each outfit. Every piece is something that she would wear, especially the gold ensembles. However, Deepika’s favourite dress in the collection is the little black dress crafted from textured lace.

A capsule of ensembles that intends to make every girl feel special, without being over done; that exudes luxuriousness in simplicity, Deepika Padukone’s design expedition for Van Heusen India, seems to have met its destination, for now!
