It has been just a day since the commencement of the Lakme Fashion Week; and the runway madness is fast catching on. Who created what design? Which ensemble makes a winning look? Etc. Amidst all this curiosity, it is not just the big daddy’s shining bright; but new and upcoming designers creating their mark.

If you are a fashion enthusiast, love picking up latest trends and are always looking for something innovative and new, here’s a list of designers you need to watch out for. These designers have already made their runway mark. Plus, they design ensembles to die for.

MASABA GUPTA

Three times a Lakme Fashion Week opener, she needs no introduction. Her collections simply flirt with your eye to make you feel like the fashion forward, confident woman of today. Her collection features the spirit of an adventurous Goan woman and is titled Wanderess. Prints, motifs, flared outfits, cut-outs, long sleeves to thigh-length jacket in green, white, brown are charming.

Debutante at the Lakme Fashion Week, this Pakistan-based designer brings in fashion that’s sophisticated and comfortable. Her collection titled Sakura is an ode to cherry blossoms of Japan. Engaged in warm and bright colours, nature motifs, rich textures; her collection is for the glamorous and confident woman.

AZA KENGZEI

Aza Kangzei graduated from INIFD in Mumbai. His edgy vision-meets-fashion’ has got him on our watch list. His collection labeled Changvei at the Lakme Fashion Week is inspired from the shield used by Naga Warriors when at war. The collection features all elements of protection, right from the enveloped neck pieces to pleated pants, corsets, jackets and shirts, are designed for both men and women.
