We are convinced that half of the population reading this has already nodded their heads to the main title and agree that combining fashion and comfort are a match made in heaven. Besides, working out is not just about sweating it out in the gym, it could be a peaceful yoga session or an adrenaline pumping dance class too. Have you ever thought about the amount of merchandise that is planned and articulated for the Olympics or the Asian Games? The variety of sport events, the number of players, design key, wearability function, technology improvisation are all given due importance now.

Trend Alert

We’re not only giving a mention to sport events and fashions shows, but in reality almost every high fashion brand is also making it a must-have. Multi-national retail clothing companies such as H&M and New Look have an endless number of oversized jumpers and  comfy sweatpants to innovative sneakers. The trick is to team up all this androgyny with a pair of heels! German sportswear powerhouse Adidas has also teamed with Jeremy Scott to avail of a range of sports gear that is lighter, wearable and has an outburst of a fashion statement.

A few days ago, English model Cara Delevigne collaborated with luxury international brand DKNY to launch a 15-piece capsule collection that spoke of sports that was high on effortless style. Indian designer duo Pranav Mishra and Shyma Shetty have also brought to the canvas an interesting collection last summer of dropped shoulder sweatshirts, striped suits, unisex shirts, zipped jackets, vinyl fleece shorts and panelled trousers under their collection HUEMN.

Clearly, we’ve moved from our Juicy Couture days; this is more like a sportswear revolution.
