We have experienced LIVA first hand. We have lived in it and have loved it. With a fabric so soft and fluid, it flows to accentuate every curve; and is establishing itself as the preferred fashion fabric. With so much to deliver, LIVA is continuously trying to amp up its presence.
Hence, the birth of LIVA Protégé a fashion property by the Aditya Birla Group. Our country is blooming with talent and there is no denying the incredible skills young students have. In a time like this, the need for a platform for these beginners is essential. LIVA Protégé is an annual, pan-India search for the brightest fashion designers in India, and is open to final year fashion design students. It is a chance for them to showcase their talent at a national level and get mentored by some of the biggest names in the industry.
The search for these budding fashion designers was spread over 6 zones across the country – Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru & Chennai. Out of the nominated students from fashion designing colleges, the top 2 finalists were selected from each zone. They worked under the guidance of their respective mentors and were to prepare 5 outfits from LIVA fabric for the finale.
The LIVA Protégé 2015 finals, held in Mumbai, saw some amazing work by the students. Their designs were revealed on the runway with a grand fashion show. The finale saw an esteemed panel of judges – Soha Ali Khan, Prasad Naik, Ananya Birla, Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Nandini Bhalla. These judges evaluated each designer’s collection on the bases of creativity, imagination of theme selected and the use of LIVA fabric. After a beautifully executed show, the judges were left impressed and were even keen on working with these fresh designers.
The winner of the LIVA Protégé 2015 was Riturana Deori from Ahmedabad mentored by Soham Dave. The first runner up was Nitin Gupta from Ahmedabad mentored by Soham Dave too and the second runner up was Sagarika Joshi from Bengaluru mentored by Manoviraj Khosla. The event gave growing designers an esteemed platform, and has established LIVA as the ultimate fabric among fashion designers.
