Jio MAMI 19th Film Festival with Star is India’s only premiere film festival showcasing the latest cutting-edge independent cinema and feature films from Bollywood, Hollywood and other international cult movies. Under the aegis of the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), the festival will this time expand its depth vertically rather than spreading horizontally. During the seven days of the fest, some of the most brilliant and marvellous works of talents across the globe will be showcased across 18 different screens in the city. Over 220 films from 49 countries, filmed in 52 languages will be screened between the 12th and 18th of October in Mumbai. The Festival celebrates the true culture of good cinema and aims at spreading the spirit of arts and genius in films.
Films inspire our routine lives and have been greatly influencing cultures and thoughts. This festival will be a platform for Indian feature films to acclaim a global stage as well as international talents to showcase in the film capital of the country. With trustees such as Anurag Kashyap, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Kaustubh Dhavse, Smriti Kiran, Kiran Rao and many more, the festival just like every year will be one of a kind, bringing publishers, writers, producers together. MAMI gives a plethora of remarkable movies and talent that are sure to inspire the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers.
The curtains will draw to Anurag Kashyap’s film Mukkabaaz (The Brawler) at the eminent Libertty Cinema. Some other stories to show are Walking With the Wind by Praveen Morchhale, Pale Blue Dot by Girish Mohite, Call Me By Your Name by Luca Guadagnino and many more intense, exciting features.
