Menswear Trends at the Van Heusen GQ Fashion Night

Over the last few years, fashion for men has really evolved. There are more colours, more designs, more experiments with conventional and unconventional styles. Designers are experimenting with futuristic and traditional designs, fabrics and prints and giving them unique styles; slowly heading towards avant-garde.

The Van Heusen GQ Fashion Nights held on the 11th and 12th of November showcased quite such garments. Some of country’s best designers such as Shantanu & Nikhil, Dhruv Kapoor, Raghavendra Rathore, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Arjun Khanna and Gaurav Gupta unveiled their latest collections. With showstoppers such as Sushant Singh Rajput, Prateik Babbar, Vikrant Massey, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, the night was truly starry.

A few of the major trends spotted were checks, florals, prints, embroidery, velvet and leather jackets. While the most interesting fits spotted included men’s skirts, loose bottoms made of cotton and linen, comfort-fits and cigarette pants. Another noteworthy trend was lapel accessories and detailing on lapels. The glasses trend is sure to continue for a couple seasons more.

The night was full of style pioneers and trends we could not help but stare. The exploratory designs were full of inspiration. All garments were distinctive but had some common characteristics of eccentricity, classiness, futurism and comfort.
